What are the benefits for a volunteer?
Contribute a Positive Change - Volunteering is one of the ways
in which people of all abilities and backgrounds can contribute to positive
change, also Volunteering gives you an opportunity to work with people less
fortunate, make a difference in their lives and be a part of a positive change
in the local community by sharing the benefits of your skills and knowledge to
teach and help others.
Improve job prospects and employment - You will gain
international living and work experience allowing you to better compete in
today's job market. also the people who volunteered to learn new skills had
benefited either by getting their first job, improving their salary, or being
promoted.
Meet
new People & Fun - Volunteering gives you the chance to meet a wide
range of people and make new friends, learn about a new culture, country and
community that you might not normally come across.
Master a new language - Volunteering gives you the chance to
meet a wide range of people and make new friends, learn about a new culture,
country and community that you might not normally come across.
Learning opportunities - Many of the
volunteer projects will include training and provides informal and
non-formal learning opportunities which will be useful both on the project and
later as an instrument in life-long learning.
Personal growth & Gain knowledge - Volunteering gives you a
feeling of satisfaction and personal growth knowing that you are making a
difference out of the good of your heart and not asking for anything in return.
Through volunteering, people
gain knowledge, exercise skills and extend their social networks, which can
often lead to new or better employment opportunities, as well as personal and
social development.
We
think it is very important that a volunteer works in a project of his or her
choice. We are working together with various projects
and the volunteer is entirely free in his choice for a project. In the second
week of Spanish lessons, we take the volunteers to visit some projects to see in
which he or she is interested, based on this visit the volunteer chooses a
project where he wants to work. It is also possible to make a combination to
work in a morning-project and in a afternoon-project.
The volunteer is flexible in composing his or her program. It is not necessary
that you work 5 days a week in a project, this can also be 3 or 4 days. So maybe
you want to work 3 mornings in one project and 3 afternoons in another project.
Together we make a program that suits you! Keep in mind that once you have
chosen for a project and created your program, your colleagues in the projects
count on you the days you signed up for.
